Yvonne "Sheri" Hale

Yvonne “Sheri” Sharon Hale, 61, of Bolivar, MO went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 22, 2017, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Sheri was born April 26, 1955, in Scott City, Kansas to Oscar Castleberry and Violet Castleberry-Nickel. She attended Halfway High School. On December 3, 1971, she was united in marriage to her husband, Robert Hale. To this wonderful union, two children were born. Sheri was known to her community for her love of sports and her years working for the YMCA in Bolivar. She started out as a volunteer when the Y opened and later move to a paid position as the programs expanded. She spent many years coaching her son and daughter’s baseball and softball teams and running their youth programs at the Bolivar United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Sheri had many artistic talents from painting to crafting to baking and cake decorating. Robert and Sheri spent much of their young adult life participating in Country Western Dance competitions and enjoyed dancing and spending time with their friends. As the years passed, her pride and joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren – teaching them to cook, watching them at sporting events, playing games, and enjoying family time. Spending time with family and friends was very important to Sheri – from playing cards and games to everyday gatherings – everyone was welcome and never left hungry! Sheri was a strong woman whose family remembers how well she dealt with tense situations and hardships. Her fighting spirit and warm heart will not soon be forgotten. Sheri is preceded in death by her father, Oscar Castleberry and her mother, Violet Nickel. Sheri is survived by her husband, Robert Hale of the home; her son, Adam Hale and daughter, Amber Cline and husband, Terry of Bolivar, MO; her grandchildren Beau Hale and Brookelyn, Tessa, Colton, and MaryGrace Cline; her sister, Alma Jewell and husband Jack, of Scott City, Kansas; as well as many aunts, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Mt. View Cemetery, Polk, MO. Following graveside services a reception/celebration of life will be held at the Bolivar United Methodist Church.
