Mary Lou Kelley

Mary Lou (Jorgensen) Kelley, age 94, of Audubon, Iowa, formerly of Bolivar, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 2, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family and supported by the compassionate care of the Audubon Friendship Home and hospice team. Mary was born on April 15, 1932, in Jacksonville, Iowa, to John W. and Bessie (Nielsen) Jorgensen. On March 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jerome “Jerry” Kelley at the historic Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They shared 61 years of marriage before Jerry’s passing in 2017. Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ. As the wife of a U.S. Air Force serviceman, she lovingly cared for their family during Jerry’s military assignments across the United States and overseas. Her faith, strength, and dedication were the foundation of her family. Mary enjoyed a rewarding career as a registered nurse and later owned and operated a sewing business with Jerry. They enjoyed traveling and creating many cherished memories together. She also found great joy in painting, gardening, quilting, and blessing others through her many talents. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Kelley; her parents, John W. and Bessie Jorgensen; her brothers, Jack and Philip Jorgensen; her sister, Rosie Dale; and her stepson, Mike Kelley. She is survived by her children: Bruce Kelley of Humansville, Missouri; Kristie (John) Crump of Gillette, Wyoming; Kathy (Bill) Crowe of Edwards, Missouri; Karen (Dennis) Blankenship of Nampa, Idaho; Brian (Karen) Kelley of Larkspur, Colorado; and Colleen Roberts of Preston, Missouri. She is also survived by her brother, Dan Jorgensen; her grandchildren, Izaak, Brook, Aaron, Katie, Sarah, Jesse, Leann, Isaiah, Joshua, Hanna, Daniel, David, Joy Beth, Samantha, and Alexander; 40 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Mary’s life was a testimony of faith, love, kindness, and service to others. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered as she rejoices in the presence of her Savior. . Visitation for Mary Lou will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 2 PM with services following at 3PM in Butler Funeral Home. Interment will be held Monday, August 10. 2026 at 1 PM in Springfield Veterans Cemetery.
