Dorothy Elizabeth Musser

Dorothy Musser was born on October 13, 1919 in Brighton, Colorado to Gottlieb F. and Flora Lutz. She was one of two children. Dorothy grew up in Brighton, attended the Brighton Lutheran School and graduated from Brighton High School. After high school, Dorothy worked as a telephone operator in Brighton and Sterling, Colorado. It was through her work that she met her future husband Bill Musser who also worked for the telephone company. Dorothy was married to William J. Bill Musser on November 8, 1947 in Brighton, Colorado. They have two children, Barbara and Jack. Dorothy and Bill and family lived in Fort Morgan, Colorado from 1947 to 1972 when they moved to Loveland, Colorado. Dorothy worked for the telephone company and as a receptionist for the Medical Group in Fort Morgan. They were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan. After moving to Loveland, they became members Mount Olive Lutheran Church. After Bill passed away in 2000, Dorothy moved to Bolivar, Missouri to be near her daughter and eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In Bolivar, she attended the Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the company of her neighbors in Bolivar and was in good health until early 2013 when she was diagnosed with congestive heart problems. She moved into the Parkview Healthcare Facility in January 2013 and received excellent care until she passed away early in the morning on March 13th Dorothy is survived by her brother Wilbert Lutz and wife Bonnie of Greely, Colorado; her son Jack W. Musser and wife Cherri of Frisco, Texas; her daughter Barbara Ann Whitney and husband Ron of Hermitage, Missouri; by eight grandchildren Michael Whitney and wife Rhonda, Laura Yates and husband Brandon, Mark Whitney, Nancy Piper and husband Kevin, Matt Whitney and wife Macy, Adam Whitney and wife Jessie, Luke Whitney and wife Monica, Cody Whitney and wife Mykal; and by twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Dorothy Musser will be held 7:00 PM Friday, March 15th at Murray Funeral Home, Bolivar officiated by Pastor Al Geil. Visitation will be from 6-7 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 19th at the Resthaven Cemetery in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Memorial contributions are suggested to either Parkview Healthcare, Mt.
