OBITUARY BOBBY (BOB) LEE DIXON Bobby (Bob) Lee Dixon, age 80 of Bolivar, MO passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the North Kansas City Hospital in North KC, MO after a long illness. He was born on March 27, 1926 near Walnut Grove, MO in Polk County the son of Floyd J. Dixon and Anna Jean Hamilton Dixon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was a retired car hauler for the Ford Motor Co. He had been living in Liberty for the past several months to be near his children. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Liberty, MO. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Bob was a graduate of Walnut Grove High School. Bob was united in marriage to Iris Rose Dickerson on December 31, 1946 in Walnut Grove, MO and to this union 6 children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Iris Rose, a son Floyd Dixon, and 4 brothers and 1 sister. Bob was a well respected man, a very loving and devoted father and grandfather. He was filled with compassion, dedication, and most importantly LOVE!, for life and family. He loved all water sports, going fishing and hunting and he loved to tell story's about his life, growing up, living on the farm, when his children were growing up. Another thing about Bob, was the he absolutely hated Turnips and Pineapple! Bob was very active in the Boy Scouts, troop # 374 at his church in Liberty. Surviving is his three sons, Jack Dixon and wife Peggy, Ted Dixon and wife Wanda; all of Liberty, MO; Rex Dixon of Raytown, MO; two daughters, Mary Owings of Yale, Oklahoma, and Jill Banks and husband Mike of Liberty, MO; his daughter-in-law, Patty Dixon of Liberty, MO. 16 grandchildren, Pam Sighman, James Dixon, Christopher Dixon, Nathan Owings, Becky Owings, Jeremy Owings, T. J. Dixon, Jr., Casey Dixon, Jerry Green, Amy McDonald, Aaron Dixon, Dennis Banks, Cindy Atkinson, Tiffany Banks, Jason Dixon and Jenna Dixon. and 19great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Bolivar, MO with Pastor Duncan Meadows officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Aldrich, MO. Services under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, MO Casketbearers were, Jason Dixon, Christopher Dixon, James Dixon, Teddy Dixon, Jr. Dennis Banks, Aaron Dixon, Nathan Owings, and Casey Dixon.
