Anna Maude Greer

Anna Maude Redman Greer, age 85, of Goodson, Missouri was born March 30, 1922 to William Robert "Bill" and Mary Maude Strader Redman near Aldrich. She departed this life on Monday, July 23, 2007. All of her life was spent in Polk County Missouri. She lived in the Aldrich area until she married Bucky Greer then moved to Goodson where she lived until her death. Anna's testimony of salvation was at the age of 12, she said she was saved but conviction set in a year later. She tried to pray everywhere but where God led her to pray, the altar at the front of the church. When she was 18, Shorty (her sister) begged her to go to church, at the Mitchell Camp Ground, with her. At church a neighbor lady came back and shook her hand. She went to the altar, everything went black, and the next thing that she remembers she was standing up telling them she was saved. She joined Lindley Creek Baptist Church where she was a member at her death. She was united in marriage to William Arthur "Buck" Greer on January 18, 1941. To this union there was five children born. Anna was known for her kind spirit. She was the cornerstone of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She was a housewife that helped her husband by driving a school bus, milking, and helping on the farm. She loved to see things grow, she always had flowers and had a vegetable garden as long as her health permitted. She loved to cook for her family and friends and was known for the wonderful food that she made. She was preceded in death by her Husband, her Father and Mother, four Brothers; Arthur Loren Redman, Ralph Redman, Wallace Redman, and Robert Lee Redman, three Sisters; Josie Slagle, Wilma Ruth (Shorty) Harralson, and an infant sister Inez. Survivors include one Brother; Earl Redman and his wife Frances, one Sister-In-Law; Norma Redman, Anna's Children; Gary Greer and his wife Kathryn of Goodson, Mike Greer and his wife Reba of Goodson, Karen Wilson and her husband Jerry of Halfway, Donna Sikes and her husband David of Humansville, and Cathy McNatt and her husband David of Goodson. Also surviving are seven Grandchildren and three Step-Grandchildren; Tammy and Bart Ikerd, Terri and Dee Cloyd, Toni Greer, Stephanie and Bill Ackels, Sheila and Brian Ferguson, Rachel and Rodney Boyce, Jennifer Wilson, Stacey and Connie Sikes, Jason and Robyn Sikes, Mindy and Brian Hackleman. 9 Great Grandchildren; Sammi Ikerd, Logan Ikerd, Sean Ikerd, Brooklynn Andrews, Brady Andrews, Hannah Greer, Colten Ackels, Carl Ackels and Mattie Ackels. 10 Step-Great Grandchildren; Jared Cloyd and his wife Lauren, Dustin Cloyd, Brian Ferguson, Jake Ferguson, Brianna Sikes, Molly Sikes, Heidi Sikes, Emily Rose Sikes, Abby Hackleman and Madalynn Hackleman. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Brother Doyle Mayfield officiating. The obituary will be read by Bill Ackels. Music will be Scott Hammerbacher with the songs "The Unclouded Day","I'll Stroll Over Heaven With You", "Amazing Grace", and "No Room at the Altar". Burial will follow at Lindley Creek Cemetery in Goodson, MO. Pallbearers will be Bart Ikerd, Dee Cloyd, Brian Ferguson, Bill Ackels, Rodney Boyce, Stacey Sikes, Jason Sikes and Brian Hackleman. Honorary Casketbearers will be Wayne Gladden, Roger Hammer, Larry Moore and Stuart Hosiner. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
