LaWanda Nelle Smith

December 30, 1928 - March 15, 2022

LaWanda Nelle (Montgomery) Smith, 93, passed away on 3-15-22 at home. She was the wife of the late Luther E Smith. They shared 68 years of marriage together. LaWanda was born in Lubbock, Texas, on 12-30-1928 to Roy & Mildred Montgomery. She was a talented and gifted homemaker during her years of marriage, raising four children with her husband. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and was always a gracious hostess. Unfortunately, during her last several years, dementia robbed her of many of these joys, but the one thing that remained was her love and faith in God. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther E Smith; her son, Wendell Scott Smith; her parents, Roy and Mildred Montgomery; her brother, Roy Brown; and her sister, Rachel Doane. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Raven, Veda Gonzalez, and Rebecca Andrews; eleven grandchildren, Kieffer Connelly, Tomas Gonzalez, Alyssa Humphrey, Aron Gonzalez, Sara Gonzalez, Ana Easterley, Noemi Massey, Jesse Smith, Keller (Jim) Andrews, Daniel Andrews, and Nathan Andrews; and seven great-grandchildren, Torrin Connelly, Conner Connelly, Alex Gonzalez, Mia Humphrey, Michael Humphrey, Anthony Gonzalez, and Aziel Massey.
