Kolby Hale

Kolby John Hale, age 19 passed away on February 22, 2024, in his home. Kolby was born August 6, 2004, in Springfield, Missouri to John Hale and Tina Smith. He attended Bolivar School District and graduated in 2023 and worked alongside his father and brother at Quality Tree Service and most recently at Tracker Marine. Kolby was one of a kind. He was the best. Kolby was there to take care of you and let you know that he loved you! He was dependable and never declined a call. Whether he was helping move a truck and trailer, helping with chores, mowing your yard, playing with the cousins, visiting grandpa and grandma, or just stopping by to check on you he was always there. Kolby was a helper, as his dad referred to him as a real hand, he often called him his Ace. He always made time for his people. Kolby was ornery, fun and full of life. He liked to push the limits but that's one of the things we loved about him. Kolby had two speeds, whoa and go! He had a need for speed. He loved riding on anything with wheels, especially his dirt bike. Kolby was a family man, family first above all. All the kids flocked to him. The cousins were always crawling all over him, teasing him and picking on him. The kids knew that Kolby loved them and they all loved him back. Everyone loved Kolby's energy! He brought the fun, the joy, and the light into every room. He was always joking and had a mischievous smirky smile on his face. You could count on him to play a trick or a joke, anything to have fun. He was a hands-on, can-do man. He could do it all, even from a young age. He could drive and fix nearly anything! When he could barely see over the steering wheel, he could back a trailer better than most men. People were always amazed at his ability to figure out how to fix what was broken with whatever he had on hand. Just like his daddy. Kolby was a great listener and you never wondered where he stood in a situation. He told you what he thought but stood behind you regardless of if he agreed with you because he loved you. He was a truth speaker, and he valued his family. He always worked to bring everyone together and have fun. Kolby loved life! Kolby showed his love often by teasing you, showing up for you, and lending a helping hand. We suffered a tragic loss when we lost Kolby, there will never be another one like him. He was a good Man! He would want us to remember to hold your loved ones tight and remember the importance of family and friends and showing your love! Kolby is survived by his father John Hale and Trish Berry; mother Tina Smith and Ryan Rauscher; siblings Jacob Hale and Mallory Templeton, Hunter Berry, Hailey and Katie Hale; Chayse Milam, and Brenden Hill and Noemi Moreno; nieces Lennox and Monica Hill, grandparents David and Nancy Hale Rose Edwards, Ronnie Smith, Great grandparents Pansey and Lonnie Smith and a host of aunts uncles and cousins: Kim, Steve, Elaine, and David, Katelynn, Dailynn, Annistyn, Koden Hawk; Jason, Jackie, and Codey, Hannah, Rilynn, Jaxie, Hallie Hale; Jay Follis; Julie, Dustin, Madalynn, Maveric and McCoy Jarman; and Melanie and Renner, Enzie, Landon Schaller, Cara Smith; and a host of extended family. Kolby was preceded in death by his great grandparents Eugenia and LD Hale, Mayme and Marion Simpson, Bessie Jane, aunt Angela Follis, great uncles Joe and Donald Hale, great aunts Mary and Sheri Hale, and cousins Codey Joe and Adam Hale, and Robert Gordon. Services for Kolby will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the Mabee Chapel on the SBU campus starting at 11:00 A.M. Visitation for Kolby will be Monday evening, February 26, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Kolby Hale family established at Mid Missouri Bank.
