William "Larry" Lawrence Griffitts

Mr. William Larry Lawrence Griffitts, age 70 of Morrisville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born October 10, 1941 in Polk County, Missouri, the son of Lawrence William Griffitts and Margaret (Cribbs) Griffitts. Larry was saved, at a young age, at Brighton Baptist Church in Brighton, Missouri and still a current member there. He attended church at Morrisville Assembly of God Church and the Morrisville United Methodist Church. On July 2, 1961 Larry married Anna Lea Cox in Morrisville, Missouri. He was a boiler maker for Fluor (Texas) Utilities from 1984 and really never retired, working until he could no longer do so because of his health. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening along with lawn care and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Kevin Lawrence Griffitts, one sister; Judy Boyd, and a grandson; Jeffrey Allan Griffitts. Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Lea Griffitts of the home, two sons; Jeff Griffitts of Morrisville, Missouri, Greg Griffitts and his wife Susan of Morrisville, Missouri, one brother; Rick Griffitts and his wife Teresa of Bolivar, Missouri, one sister; Sheryl Ramey and her husband Phil of Bolivar, Missouri, and six grandchildren; Jessie Griffitts, Brooke Davenport, Leshell Griffitts, Blake Davenport, Taylor Griffitts and Carly Griffitts, many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday evening, March 30, 2012 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Morrisville Assembly of God Church in Morrisville, Missouri with Reverend Randy R. Urich and Reverend Larry Summers officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, Missouri. Musical selections will be Daddys Hands sung by Beth Painter and Had It Not Been sung by John Trew and Beauetta Hogan playing the piano. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Jessie Griffitts, Blake Davenport, Benton Cox, Steve Cribbs, Chris Hampton and John Yates. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Looney, Joe Nelson, Ed Boyd, Rick Griffitts, Mike Hampton and Stormey McKown.
