William Lee Branstetter

William Lee Branstetter, 80, of Stockton passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Lake Stockton Healthcare. He was one of 8 children born to James Hooker and Clara Eunice Branstetter in Syracuse, Missouri. He was a long time employee for the Shasta Beverage Company in Lenexa, Kansas. Upon his retirement from Shasta he then moved to this area where he then devoted more than 20 years of work to the City of Stockton and the Cedar County Road and Bridge Maintenance department before his retirement in 2004. William enjoyed farming, especially working with his cattle, and baling hay. Much of his summer was occupied by spending time with his grandchildren who would each come and spend a week with him, developing bonds and unique relationships that make being a grandfather truly special. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Branstetter; daughter Glenda Branstetter; and long time companion Frieda Xarhis. William is survived by sons Clyde Branstetter and his wife Frances of Humansville and William Eugene Branstetter of Stockton; daughter Willena Fern Scott and her husband Don of Oak Grove, Missouri; grandson Tim Branstetter and his wife Erin of Bolivar, granddaughter Ginger Dayton and her husband Mike of Clark, Missouri, grandson Justin Ricketts and his wife Tanya of Blue Springs, Missouri, granddaughter Brooke Hewitt and her husband Matt of Independence, Missouri, granddaughter Billie Branstetter and Caleb Coop of Kansas City, Missouri, grandson Bobby Branstetter and his wife Jennifer of Bolivar, Missouri, granddaughter Beth Branstetter and Connor Sherman of Kansas City, Missouri; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Mabel Walters and her husband Jack, Velma Johnson, Lavern Hill, Carol Branch, Dollie Mae Mueller, Mary Ann Parker all from Missouri; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services for William Branstetter will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Murray Funeral Home in Humansville with burial immediately following in Alder Cemetery near Stockton.
