Troy Lamont Thomas

Troy Thomas, 47, Stockton, passed from his earthly life and entered into the heavenly gates right into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, April 9, 2015. He was born December 28, 1967 in Le Mesa CA the son of Donald and Rosemary (Pfaff) Thomas. Troy happily gave his life to Jesus at a young age of 5 and he held close to him throughout his most eventful life. Troy was raised traveling from different Navy bases while his dad served this great nation. That is where Troy kindled his love of travel and the appreciation of living in the United States of America. He graduated high school in Kansas at Wichita Northwest, received his associate s degree at Butler County Community College and moved to Alabama and attended University of North Alabama studying the field of Industrial Hygienist. Living life to his fullest, Troy loved his family deeply and enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping and supporting his children in everything they did for school, sports, church and community. Troy also developed a love of gaming from a young age when he wasn t suppose to be active healing from open heart surgery and that love of the never ending video or online game gave him the opportunity to meet people all over the world; which he shared stories of his family and life. Troy was a Mason alongside his dad which made him happy spending valuable time together. One of Troy s proudest accomplishments was serving at our church in many different roles including Deacon and also Mission s Director. Troy helped plan and go on many mission trips to Mexico and each trip impacted his life to live life to the fullest and share the love of Jesus. Survived by his wife of more than 24 years, Kim; daughters Logan and Jordan; sons Cameron and Morgan all of the home, his loving mother Rosemary and husband Peter Terletzky of Florida; sister Valerie and husband Danny Gossett of Texas; Uncle Ronnie and wife Karen Thomas, Uncle Kenny and wife Retha Thomas all of Joplin Missouri; Aunt Fletta Norcross of Florida, also many cousins, nieces and nephews which Troy cared for deeply. He was preceded in death by his most proud father Donald Thomas, his special grandparents Shorty and Eva Dee Lewis that he stayed with many summers and a special cousin Nikki Dubose. Troy was blessed with additional family when his father married Shirley who brought Jeff, Michelle and Camille into the family. One of Troy s biggest and deepest loves was supporting his children. All 4 of his children are very active in school, church and community and Troy was there for everything he could be for. Troy considered himself a Stockton Tiger through and through supporting all sports and activities, but he was especially fond of cross country, track and basketball with his time and encouragement. Troy has left a positive, God honored imprint on our lives and this world, and we will forever celebrate his life and testimony. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Harvest Assembly in Fair Play officiated by Rev. Lyle Shaulis with burial immediately following in Alder Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the funeral service.
