OBITUARY RUTH R. WIGET Mrs. Ruth Rea Wiget, age 88, of Bolivar, passed away at 1:10 PM Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at the Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar. She was born June 12, 1917 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of Lyman and Lenora Virgin Rice. She attended and graduated from Newell High School in Newell, West Virginia. After high school, she worked at National Church Supply in Chester, West Virginia. She met Joseph "Ernie" Wiget while vacationing in California with her brother, Al and his family. Ruth and Ernie married a year later on April 20, 1957 and to this union three children were born, Ken, Paul and Cheryl. As a Navy family, they lived in several duty locations, including San Francisco, San Diego and Hawaii. In 1976, after retiring, the couple moved to Bolivar. Ruth and Ernie both enjoyed starting a new business in Bolivar called The Yarn Shoppe, which catered to their interest in knitting and crocheting. They made many new friends through this venture. Ruth was a former member of the Women's Federation (Facts & Fiction), and the University of Missouri Extension (Homemakers). She also enjoyed bowling on a league, participating in several bridge clubs, and playing cards and board games with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, he husband Ernie, three Brothers; Glenn, Kenneth and Al, and her son Ken. She is survived by a daughter and her husband; Cheryl and Garland Jenkins of Polk, MO; a son and his wife; Paul and Barbara Wiget of Mentor, Ohio, 6 grandchildren; Beth Chamberlin, Lenora DeMars, Erik Wiget, Erin Fusco, Christopher Jenkins and Andrew Jenkins, and two great grandchildren; Daniel Chamberlin and Marcus Fusco. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 at 10:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald R. Hart officiating. Casket Bearers were Emory Davis, Rick Frieze, Nick Fusco, Gary Harrison, Mel Jenkins, Dennis Keith, Bill Rice and Billy Rice. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
