OBITUARY ROY OSCAR BUTLER Roy Oscar Butler departed this life on February 13, 2007 at 6:05 PM at Northwood Hills Nursing Facility in Humansville, MO after a lengthy illness. Roy was born on June 29, 1922 at Huron, MO the son of Oliver Howard Butler and Fairie Minerva Elizabeth Fullerton Butler. He was saved in 1952 in a revival at Center Point Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member until his death. He was married to Dorothy Seiner on December 7, 1945. To this union was born four children, Sharon, Ronald, Terry and Deborah. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Fairie Butler, four brothers, Howard, Glenn, Charley and Jacob, and one sister, Jewell Elliott. One daughter-in-law, Rachel Butler and one son-in-law, Danny McGovern. Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Dorothy, two sons, Ronald Butler and wife Melba, Terry Butler and wife Joyce, both of Bolivar. Two daughters, Sharon Brown and husband Garland Dale, Debbie Jackson and husband Kenny, both of Bolivar. 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Also one brother-in-law, Bob Seiner and wife Darlene of Bolivar, 2 sisters-in-law, Joan Wilson of Bolivar, and Helen Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Roy was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family, farm, fishing, gardening, his cattle and quail hunting. He was the caretaker of Center Point Church until he was unable do to his health. Roy will be greatly missed by those who love him. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Stoops officiating. Music will be provided by the Center Point Church Choir with Betty Blankenship as the Pianist. Musical selections will be "Going Home", "He'll Hold To My Hand" and a congregational song of "In The Sweet By & By". Burial will be in the Payne Cemetery north of Polk under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Military Honors will be conducted by the Flemington AMVETS Post # 114. Casketbearers will be: Mike Jenkins, Kerry Butler, Keith Butler, Ronnie Butler, Jr., Jason Butler, and Scott Ryan. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, Feb. 16, 2007 at the Butler Chapel from 6-7 PM Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
