Richard C. Harper

Richard Carle Harper was the 7th child and 4th son of Richard and Matilda Harper. He was born July 11, 1925 in Gerster Mo. He was the last of his family of origin. He was preceded in death by his son David Carle Harper, both his parents Richard and Matilda Harper, his brothers Raymond Harper, Colma (John) Harper, Noland Harper, Joy Harper; his sisters Elmyra (Myra) Offield, Laura Hartman, Neva Brubeck/ Speight and Betty Ellsworth. He is survived his wife Christine Lee (McLemore) Harper, his children and their spouses Cynthia and Mike Neal , Stephen and Lynn Harper, Deborah and Darrell Enloe, Paul and Debra(Debbie) Harper , 12 grandchildren and two step-grand children: Michael (Tim) Neal, Christy-Ann Archuleta, Cynthis Nelson, Matthew Neal, Sarah Sims, Karen Harper, Stephen (Todd)Harper, Angela Grondahl, Rachel Galvin, Adam Young, Paul Harper Jr., Andrew Harper; 11 great grandkids Clara, Emilia, Raul, Alleyna, Hunter, Thomas, Stephanie, Isaac, Mason, Landon, and Kennedy, He grew up in the rural community of Shady Hill Missouri Cedar county. He attended school at Shady Hill and Humansville. RC served in the army during WWII First as a forward observer to the artillery then as the cook to General Omar Grizwald. Through his life he has been as a soldier, a farmer, a machinist, a cabinet maker, a builder houses, a mechanic, plumber s assistant and ran his own lawn service. He worked as a machinist for Bendix Corp for many years and mold fabricator for several plastics companies. From 1959 to 1985 he was member and served as elder in the Hickman Mills Community Christian Church. From 1984 to present he was a member the Holy Trinity Lutheran church in Grandview Mo. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2009 in Murray Funeral Home, Humansville. Interment will be in Humansville Cemetery with military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 3:00 PM.
