Paul L. Hoevet

Paul Luther Hoevet passed away Thursday at St. John s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. The son of Wilbur and Dorothy Hoevet, he was born July 15, 1940, in Casper, Wyoming and died eight days after his 69th birthday on July 23rd, 2009. He grew up in Lebanon, Missouri, where he was raised by his father s twin sister and her husband, Wilma and John Coats. Paul and Wanda, his wife of 48 years, were married on April 29th, 1961 in Lebanon, Missouri. Paul was a member of the United States Army for ten years, during which time he served as a drill sergeant and tank commander. After his time in the military, he was employed by Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, Missouri for 30 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Paul and Wanda moved from Raytown, Missouri to Humansville, Missouri in January 1998. Paul regularly attended area auctions and tractor shows, enjoyed rebuilding Maytag motors, was known to be a skilled and avid woodworker and took great pride in his 1947 V. A. C. Case Tractor, which he fully restored from the ground up. Those who knew him well will tell you that he was most at ease when he had a cup of coffee in his hand and a hat on his head as he spent time in his shop. Paul is survived by his wife, Wanda; his five children- Lynn Hoevet of Elk City, Oklahoma; Susan Walthour of Flemington, Missouri; Dianna Lamble and her husband, Curt, of Raytown, Missouri; Rhonda Bedsaul and her husband, Hank, of Raytown, Missouri; Michael Hoevet and his wife, Robin, of Sayre, Oklahoma; his grandchildren- John C. Young; Lisa, Audrey and Jacob Lamble; Andrew Walthour; Jeremy and Gregory Bedsaul; Ashley Hoevet; Megan and Alex Hoevet; and one great-grandson, John Aiden Young. Paul will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and an inspirational and caring grandfather and great-grandfather as well as an amazing and loyal friend. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Murray Funeral Home, Humansville. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
