Maxine Smith

Maxine Hazel Smith went to be with the Lord at 2:00 am on Monday, April 14, 2014 - her 86th birthday. She was born at Clinton, Missouri, and was the daughter of Cecil and Esther (Breshears) Seiner. Maxine was married to Rudolph Entlicher and two children were born to this union, Ronald Kent and Brenda Kay. She is survived by her family, Ronald Entlicher and wife Sue, and Brenda Ross and husband Frank, all of Bolivar. Four grandchildren; Sheila Walters and husband Randy of Smithville, Virginia; Natalie Francka and husband David; Ronda Stewart and husband Terry of Bolivar; Marcus Ross of Springfield, MO. Seven great-grandchildren; Amanda, Amber, and Kenneth Walters, Shania and Meleah Francka, Addie and Emma Stewart; her brother Bobby Gene Seiner and his wife Raylane of Aurora, MO; Great aunts Mildred Seiner and Juanita Seiner, and many cousins She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Geraldine Effenbeck, and her brother LeRoy Seiner. Maxine was married to Gene Smith in 1991, and Gene also preceded her in death. Music and church, a beautiful home and yard were a large part of Maxine’s life. Maxine had an extensive doll collection of which she made many of the dolls and their costumes. Maxine’s Aunt Sadie and Aunt Lela were a large influence on her becoming a Christian in her early years. She was a past member of the Bolivar Assembly of God Church working in Sunday School, Bible School, Women’s Ministries and singing with the church choir. Maxine loved singing gospel music with her niece Barbara and other area groups at the Sunday afternoon singings in Polk County. She sang at many, many funerals with the ladies Trio; Louise Barker, Glenda Batten, and herself. She volunteered at the Bolivar Nursing Homes helping to raise money for patient’s needs. She was a unique talented lady with a large personality and never met a stranger. Mammaw will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Church, Bolivar, MO with Pastor Gary Ankrom officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, MO.
