Marcia Anne Bowers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcia Anne Bowers, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who peacefully left this world on September 20, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in 1944, Marcia was a pillar of strength, grace, and compassion to all who knew her. She was the devoted wife of the late Sidney Clarence Bowers, with whom she shared 57 beautiful years of marriage before his passing in 2022. Marcia was a dedicated mother to her three sons: Matthew Bosley Bowers, proud father of Jack Sidney Bowers and Lily Shain Bowers; Peter Wiliam Bowers and his wife Pamela; Daniel Lucas Bowers and his wife Rosa, proud parents of Natalie Abigail Bowers. She cherished every moment with her family and poured her heart into raising her children with love and care. Her grandchildren—Jack Sidney Bowers, Lily Shain Bowers, and Natalie Abigail Bowers—brought immense joy to her life. Marcia delighted in spending time with them, imparting wisdom and sharing her warmth and nurturing spirit. Marcia found solace and fulfillment in the simple joys of life. Her faith and love for the church guided her through all of life’s challenges and celebrations. She took great pride in her garden, nurturing her flowers and plants with the same care she gave to her family. Her passion for antiques reflected her deep appreciation for history and beauty, as she enjoyed discovering treasures that told stories of the past. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She is now reunited with her beloved Sidney and will forever rest in the peace of the Lord. A Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Parrish Prayers will be held at the funeral home beginning at 7:00 PM. A service to celebrate Marcia’s life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday, October 12, 2024, beginning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
