Mabel L. Cochran

Mabel L. COchran, age 93 of Bolivar, MO., passed away October 22, 2006 at Citizens Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Mabel was born on May 17, 1913 to Lee and Myrtle Landrum Sidebottom in Barnett, MO. She became the wife of Wray Cochran in 1933 in Barnett, MO. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1983. Two children were born to this union; Dan Wray and Anita. She was preceded in death by her husband; Wray Cochran, three Brothers; Norman, Paul and Ivor Sidebottom and one Sister; Fern Williston and a nephew; Bill Hinton. She is survived by her Son; Dan Wray Cochran and his wife Bobbie of Bolivar, MO., her Daughter; Anita Rubino and her husband Robert of Las Vegas, Nevada, five Granddaughters; Dana and Gary Lynch of Bolivar, Kim and Mike Stewart of Bolivar, Jill and Kevin McOsker of Las Vegas, Julie Jacobson of Las Vegas and Christina Rubino of Las Vegas, and eight Great Grandchildren. She also has three nephews living. Mabel enjoyed being a homemaker and baking rich deserts. She was a wonderful seamstress, creating complete outfits of coat and dress and bonnet for her granddaughters. They lived many years in Eldon and Kansas City where Wray worked on the Rock Island Railroad. In 1978 they moved to Bolivar, MO. She resided in the Butterfield Residential Care Center at the time of her death. In earlier years she was active in teaching Sunday School, working in Vacation Bible School, and involved in church missionary groups. When she moved to Bolivar, Mabel enjoyed several clubs; The GFWC Ladies Study Club, The Bolivar Garden Club, and the Over 50 Club. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church until her health failed. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, October 27, 2006 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Billy Russell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the restoration project at First Baptist Church of Bolivar, MO. A special appreciation to Dr. Jeff Tedrow and the skilled staff of the ICU Unit at Citizens Memorial Hospital.
