Leroy Hall

Leroy Gerald Hall, 98 of Aldrich, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Buffalo Prairie Care Center in Buffalo, Missouri. He was born on March 26, 1924, in Mingo Iowa, to Ray Gerald Hall and Ruth Eatwell Hall. The family lived in various areas of Mingo before moving to Bondurant, Iowa in 1936. Together with his brothers Loyd and Argie, Leroy would do odd jobs in the area for neighbors including hauling water in a little wagon and oblong tub that belonged to his brother Loyd. Leroy attended and graduated from Bondurant High School in 1944. After completing school, Leroy entered military service with the United States Navy, along with his two brothers, proudly serving his country during World War II. During his time in the Navy, Leroy served aboard the USS Charles Ausburne, taking part in many campaigns and operations overseas. After being honorably discharged from Naval duties in 1946, Leroy returned home to Iowa and began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company beginning a career that lasted for over 35 years until his retirement. Leroy moved to Aldrich, Missouri in his retirement years to a property alongside his brother Loyd and enjoyed living in the area. During his working life, and in retirement, Leroy remained dedicated to his family, always putting everyone else first before himself. This commitment and dedication to going above and beyond stayed strong to the end. This was known by his siblings, and nieces and nephews that he adored. He truly lived daily with the work ethic, loyalty to family, and service above self that made him an honorable member of the “Greatest Generation”. A special thank you is to be made to Leroy’s great niece: Kristanne Korsgaard, who dedicated herself to taking care of Leroy when his health began to fail. Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Ruth Hall, and his brothers Argie and Loyd Hall. He is survived by his two sisters, Alice Kores and her husband Harold, Evelyn Rippey and her husband Russell, along with his 12 nieces and nephews. Graveside services and Military Honors for Leroy will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Graham Cemetery in Mingo, Iowa.
