Leattie Lorrine Russell

Leattie L. Russell, age 78 was born on September 6, 1929 to Thomas E. Ball and Omah McWilliams Ball, and passed away on January 4, 2008 at the Citizens Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born and lived her earlier life in Omer (Cedar County) MO. She was saved at an early age in the Methodist Church at Omer. In the early 40's she moved with her family to Bolivar, MO where she graduated from Bolivar High School in 1947. She also attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO and later went to work for Springfield News-Leader. In the early 50's she returned to Bolivar and worked for her father at the Bolivar Plumbing Company until she met the love of her life Wallace Russell. Leattie and Wallace were married on June 10, 1953 and to this union one daughter, Pamela Sue Russell was born on August 18, 1955. She was the love of their lives and Leattie became a stay at home mom cherishing her busy schedule with her family. Leattie was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter Pamela in 1989. Also, preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Bill Ball and J. W. Ball, and her sister, Lauretta Fox. Surviving is her husband, Wallace of the home, brother-in-law and his wife, Donald and Georgia Russell, sister-in-law Elizabeth Ball, 11 nieces and nephews, William and Nedra Fox, Patricia and Eddie Neal, Debra Fantauzzi, Thomas and Judi Ball, Stephanie and Mick McIntyre, Sheila and Bill Wear Jr., J. Richard Ball, Shawnna and Scott Furnish, Patricia and Bryan Breckenridge, Susan and Doug Brashears, and John and Judi Russell Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Wear Jr. and Rev. Dan Adkison officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the Butler Chapel before the service on Tuesday.
