John Alfred Richardson

John Alfred Richardson, 60, of Osceola, Missouri passed away Monday afternoon, August 26, 2013 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. John was one of 6 children born to John Alvin and Mary Etta Richardson in Sikeston, Missouri. John and his family moved to Van Buren, Missouri where he attended and graduated from the Van Buren High School. He attended college at Central Bible College in Springfield. He and JoyAnn Turner were married on October 16, 1993 and they celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary this past year. A beloved daughter, Emily, was born to this blessed union. John was a larger than life personality and you immediately knew when he entered the room as he would usually bring a smile to the faces of those around him. He had a great sense of humor and was a practical joker. He loved music and played the 12 string guitar. He was even taking piano lessons again after taking lessons as a child. John was a truck driver and loved his occupation as he traveled to all the continental United States as part of his job. He raised watermelons and also bought them in the south and hauled them to Chicago to sell continuing a family tradition. He enjoyed hunting but was an avid fisherman. His favorite fishing buddy was daughter Emily and they shared many hours together. John was preceded in death by his mother Mary Etta; brother James Lee Richardson; and sister-in-law Sue Richardson. He is survived by his wife Joy and daughter Emily of the home; father John Alvin Richardson and his wife Barbara of Van Buren, Missouri; brothers Ricky Richardson of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Terry Richardson and his wife Leslie of Van Buren; sisters Lora Jean Garrett and her husband Bob of Pleasant Hill, Illinois and Janie Clark and her husband Rancel of Fordland, Missouri; nieces Courtney, Candace, Mandy, Lauren, and Stacie; nephews Brian, Ryan, Tanner and Little John. Funeral services for John Alfred Richardson will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Humansville officiated by Pastor Mike Brixey with burial immediately following in the Robinson Cemetery near Weaubleau, Missouri.
