Janet Lynn Henry

Janet Lynn (Flack) Henry, died peacefully in her Flemington, Missouri home on October 3, 2022. She was 76 years old. The family is deeply saddened by her sudden death. Janet was born in Columbia, MO on August 31, 1946 and is the daughter of Charity Jane Flack & John Keith Flack. Janet graduated from Hallsville High School in 1964 and married her High School sweetheart in 1965. Janet attended the University of Missouri where she was a music major. She lived in the Hallsville/Columbia area for most of her life. Janet was raised on a dairy farm where she learned to love all of God’s creatures. She was blessed with many talents. She had a beautiful voice, keen intelligence and a near photographic memory. She was also a gifted writer, an avid reader and an accomplished pianist. As a small child, she amazed the entire congregation at her church when at the age of 8 she played a complex rendition of “Star of the Sea”. Janet excelled in school, graduating as Salutatorian of her High School class. In addition to singing in the church choir, Janet played the organ at the VA Hospital Chapel in Columbia, MO for many years. She also worked with the Cambodian Ministry at her church. She was a blessing to everyone, spreading love and light wherever she went and everyone who knew her understood how special she was. Perhaps most import to Janet was her passion for animals. She loved and rescued, cared for, nurtured and supported many a cat and dog during the course of her lifetime. Janet is survived by her husband, Ed, her children Lynn (Mel) Ventura of Middleburg, FL, Keith Henry of Columbia, MO and Jennifer (Mark) Coleman of Springfield, MO; Grandchildren: Kayla Turley, Megan Henry and Leah Henry; Great Grandchildren: Abigail, Adalynn & Miley; Sister Margaret Jean McBride, Niece Stephanie Lee Barela and an abundance of friends. She will be missed more than words can say.
