OBITUARY GRIMES ELNO BARNES Grimes Elno Barnes, age 76, of Polk, MO., passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 9:36 am at his home from cancer. He was born July 18, 1929 in Jamesport, MO. to his parents Robert Dee and Jewell Simpson Barnes. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and served in Korea for eighteen months. He was a truck driver and retired from Churchill Truck Lines in Kansas City, MO. in 1986. He couldn't wait to get back to the farm and loved every minute of it while his health was good. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Almetia (Simmons) Barnes, two Sons; Richard Barnes and his wife Rose of Stewartville, MO., and Randy Barnes of Polk, MO., two Daughters; Terri Moore and her husband Charles of Gladstone, MO., and Melanie Craven and her husband Steve of Platte City, MO., one Brother; Ronald Barnes of Aiken, South Carolina, a Sister-In-Law; Patsy Barnes of Kansas City, MO., and a Brother-In-Law; Alvie Seamster of Polk, MO., 10 Grandchildren; Christy & husband Lee Dorney of Pittsburg, MO., Jason Barnes of St. Joseph, MO., Amy, Aaron, Marilyn and Ryan Moore of Gladstone, MO., Kelly and Bruce Barnes of Polk, MO., and Johanna and Aralee Craven of Platte City, MO., 9 Great Grandchildren and a Host of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee & Jewell Barnes, a Brother; Derrel, and a Sister; Venna. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO., with Rev. Donald R. Hart officiating. Musical selections will be "Just A Closer Walk With The", "Take My Hand Precious Lord" and "In The Garden" being sang by Merrill Womach. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery in Polk, MO. with Military Honors provided by Flemington AMVETS Post #114. Casketbearers will be Grandsons; Jason, Joshua, Kelly and Bruce Barnes, and Aaron and Ryan Moore. A visitation will be from 9:00-11:00am prior to service time at the Funeral Home.
