Everett B. West

Everett B. West went home to be with his Lord, Thursday Evening, January 14, 2010 at 10:00 PM in the Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed being with his family and attending church. He was saved when he was 18 years old at Spring Valley Baptist Church and later joined the Berean Baptist Church in Bolivar, where he remained a long time member. He was born on April 18, 1924 in Osceola, MO the son of Samuel Lloyd Syphert and Helen Marie Syphert. He was adopted by Solomon Preston and Beulah Marie West when he was five years old. He was united in marriage to Pearl West on November 8, 1941. To this union were born four children, Anna Marie, Evan, Darlene and Nancy Christine. He served in the United States Army and was a retired employee of Teters Floral Products Company in Bolivar, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl, a son, Evan West, two daughters, Darlene Wooten, Christine Brich, his adopted parents, his parents, three sisters, Rosie, Ida and Nellie and four brothers, Lloyd, John, Sherman and Vern, two grandchildren, Jeffery and Jennifer. Surviving is his daughter, Anna Marie West of San Jose, Costa Rica; a son-in-law, Garland Brich of Bolivar, four sisters-in-law, Dottie Cox of Bolivar, MO; Ann Stewart of Coulterville, CA; Eugenia Hale of Bolivar, MO; and Wanda Hale of Redlands, CA. Also 5 grandchildren, James West, Osceola, MO; Sarah Winfrey, Deepwater, MO; Carl Wooton, Seymour, MO; Tonette Maasen, Springfield, MO; and Aaron Brich, Bolivar, MO; and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He will be missed by his family and friends but he is rejoicing in heaven with his Lord, wife, children and others who have gone on before him. Precious in the sight of the Lord us the death of his saints. Psalms 116:15. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 5-7 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Tennison and Rev. David Lingo officiating. Musical selections will be When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder, The Old Rugged Cross, and Rock Of Ages. Soloist will be Bill Yeargain with Rose Roweton as the Pianist. Mary Ruth Pursselley will play a Violin Solo of Amazing Grace. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar with full Military Honors Conducted By The AMVETS POST # 114, Flemington, MO. Casketbearers will be Jim Robbins, Carl Wooten, Jeremy Davis, Jay Cee Young, James Peacock, Jr., and Scott Pursselley. An Honorary Casketbearer will be William R. Yeargain.
