Earl Ball

Francis Earl Ball was born July 23, 1928 near Humansville to Homer and Ollie Ball and passed away March 26, 2008 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. On July 26, 1951 Earl married Helen Litle at Stockton. Earl and Helen had four children, Lois, Dennis Margie & Donna. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers - A.D., Gilbert, Robert and Gene, and his daughter Lois along with her husband Forest Daves and unborn child in a car accident in 1972. Earl is survived by his wife Helen of the home. Children - Dennis of Humansville, Margie and husband David Best of Collins, and Donna and husband Jim Snow of Harrisonville, Grandchildren - Jeff Snow and wife Jill of Parkville, Russell Ball and wife Tami of Collins, Beth Snow of Pleasant Hill, Roy Ball of Humansville, and Shayla Ball of Humansville, Great grandchildren, Tyler and Wyatt Ball, R.C Summers and Jamie Snow and was looking forward to 2 additional great grandchildren in May and July. Earl is also survived by his sister, Patsy and husband Harold Clark of Tunas and a host of family and friends. Earl drove a gas truck for Crawford Oil Co. for 20 years, then worked for the Mo. Highway Dept. for 20 years before retiring due to health problems. Earl spent many years doing tree work in the area along with his son and grandsons which are carrying on the tradition. Earl was well known throughout the area for his fine fiddle playing talents which he learned as a young man from his grandparents. In his retirement years he and Helen were able to pursue their love of music by attending many bluegrass festivals and music parties with his many friends. Earl accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1968 and was always in church when possible, serving as a deacon for many years and singing in the church choir. Earl was devoted to his wife and told her everyday how much he loved her. Earl also devoted his life to being a wonderful example to his family and others and was always ready to help anyone. Throughout his many health struggles the past 30 years, he never complained once, he just enjoyed his life as best he could and would cut up and tell jokes and stories to make everyone else feel better. Earl was a very kind, considerate and caring man who was admired and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Humansville First Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Brown and Rev. Dan Good officiating. Interment will be in Humansville Cemetery under the direction of Murray Funeral Home, Humansville. PDF Printable Version
