Dorothy "Dottie" Lynch Goldsberry

Dorothy Dottie Lynch Goldsberry, age 92, a longtime resident of Bolivar, Missouri passed peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 18, 2011. She was born July 5, 1919 in Lockhart, Texas, the daughter of Leslie Harrison Lynch and Leona Mae (Pogue) Lynch. Dottie recalled fondly her earliest beginnings attending a one room school house near Lockhart, Texas where she witnessed the famous dust bowl as well as many of the challenges that came with the depression era. Her strong family roots set the foundation for a lifetime of higher learning and she went on to graduate from the University of Texas. Her career path led her to California where she met her best friend and soul mate, Phil Goldsberry. It was in 1956 that they wed and returned back to Bolivar, the place of Phils birth, to enjoy farming and a lifetime filled with family and friends. Leading by example, her many talents and abilities will be cherished for generations to come as her wisdom of gardening, canning and cooking and just good clean country living, created warm and loving memories for all of her beloved nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Dottie was a retired board member and past officer of the New Bethel Cemetery Association in Halfway, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter; Sharron Gale Goldsberry. Dottie is survived by her husband Phil Goldsberry of the home, a daughter, Jesse K. Reese of Costa Mesa, CA., her brother; Gene Lynch of Austin, TX., granddaughters; Anna Marie Fantozzi of Costa Mesa, CA., Dora Lynn Aggson of Costa Mesa, CA., Ron Deserrier (Mutz) of Chino Valley, AZ., Julie Russell of Halfway, MO., great grandchildren; Thomas Aggson, Joanne and Becky Fontozzi, Jeff Deserrier and Ryan Woodford, Daniel and Branden Russell, and great great granddaughters; Kylie Miller, Arianna and Aiden Ussery. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend C.J. Greer officiating. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery just South of Halfway, Missouri with Reverend Ronald Day officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, December 26, 2011 from 5:00-6:00pm at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Pallbearers will be Mike Goldsberry, Johnathan Denton, Lee Blair, Jack Blair, Ron Deserrier (Mutz) and Jeff Deserrier.
