Donna Jean Lipe

Mrs. Donna Jean Lipe, age 66 of Ozark, Missouri passed away at 3:55pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was born February 20, 1946 in Aurora, Colorado, the daughter of Alford B. Nelson and Ethel Mae (Logan) Nelson. She was a Cosmetologist and a member of the Springfield Community Church in Springfield, Missouri. She enjoyed the past 19 years of marriage to Jim where some of their most treasured memories were spent traveling across the country taking time to see sites and tourist attractions along the way in his profession as an over the road truck driver. She was blessed with many talents that included the gift of playing the piano, cooking, crafts and knitting. She enjoyed blessing others through her gifts and so it was not uncommon for her cook a good home cooked meal or knit a blanket or scarf for friends and family. She enjoyed company and cherished the time she spent with close friends as they shared together with each other through life’s challenges and blessings. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. As both mom and grandma she enjoyed displaying family pictures of them throughout her home. There was not a room to be found in her home that did not provide the joy of her family and loved ones in pictures for all to see. As grandma she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren that included sleepovers, shopping trips, going to Dickerson Park Zoo, the Ozark Empire Fair & Missouri State Fair as well as Silver Dollar City and White Water throughout the season. Most important to her was her walk with the Lord as a Christian. It was evident in her life that she loved Jesus and she continually showed a desire to know Jesus more in every part of her life as she continued growing closer to Him. Donna is survived by her husband, James C. Lipe of Ozark, Missouri, two sons, M. Shane Schoeller and his wife Mendie of Willard, Missouri, Nick A. Chrissan and his wife Kelly of Overland Park, Kansas, and one daughter, Michelle L. Hunter of Springfield, Missouri and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Springfield Community Church in Springfield, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held just prior to service time from 11:00-1:00pm at the church on Saturday. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Holland Cemetery in Holland, Kansas. A visitation will also be held on Friday evening, October 12, 2012 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri.
