Dolores Vadillo

We mournfully announce the passing of Dee Vadillo, 91, of Aldrich , MO. Dee passed away on November 3rd, 2022, after a hard fought battle with lymphoma, surrounded by family. She was a bright star in this often difficult world and will be missed by so many friends and family members. Dee was predeceased by her grandparents, Clifford Lee and Alice Embree Lee Spring, Alberta Kimpson,mother, Wayne Kimpson, stepfather, brothers Russell Kimpson,and Raymond Kimpson, sisters Dorothy Boyd, and Virginia Elwood, husband Severino Vadillo, ex-husband Donald Yarger, and granddaughter Debra Bagshaw and many other beloved family members and friends. She is survived by sisters Roberta Shellburg,and Anieta Gregory, brothers Stanley (Beth) Kimpson and Steven (Stephanie) Kimpson, daughters Kathy Allen and Doni Goodwin, grandsons Rob (Kathy)Bagshaw Jr , and John (Leigh) Bagshaw , and granddaughters Jana Skibo and Dani (Corey) Allen, many great grandchildren,nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Dee was born November 9th, 1930 to a very young Alberta Lee. She was raised by her grandparents, Alice and Clifford Lee until his death July 10th, 1943. She then joined her mother, stepfather and siblings. She went to High School in Massena, Iowa, where she determined to have friends. She helped tutor athletes, drew beautiful pictures for them, and performed in the school play where she was noticed by Don Yarger. They quickly became a couple, maintaining a relationship while he served in the Navy during the Korean conflict, marrying 10/15/1951. She graduated from Massena high School with the class of 1949. From this Union, 2 daughters were born, Kathleen and Donalene. Her second marriage was to Severino Vadillo, a very diverse musician, with a heart of gold. After her retirement from the highway patrol, they traveled as snow birds, until his passing in 1999. A very gifted artist, not only with pencil and paint, but with both sewing and knitting needles, Dee created magnificent masterpieces of clothes with her talented hands. From formal gowns, daytime clothes to musicians outfits and covers to chairs and stereo speakers, there was nothing she couldn't sew. She altered patterns to suit her visions. Many were given to family, some sold. Dee was a gregarious soul, talking to anyone and everyone, which was a definite benefit for her favorite job, dispatching for the Iowa highway patrol in Atlantic, then Des Moines. As she would later proudly tell, I used to tell troopers where to go. We will be scattering Dee's ashes at the family farm at a later time. In lieu of a traditional funeral service, we are working on a celebration of life party. No donations or flowers are requested at this time, only that you take the time to remember the beautiful soul that was Dee.
