OBITUARY DELTA VIOLA COX Delta Viola Cox, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 12, 2006 at her home in Morrisville, Mo. She was 92 years, 8 months, 14 days. She was the sixth of sixteen children born to Bernard & Maggie Case Herbert. She was born May 29, 1913. She was united in marriage to John Mays Cox on December 29, 1935 in Willard, MO and to this union 10 children were born. She was preceded in death by her Husband; John Mays Cox, her Mother and Father, thirteen Brothers and Sisters, one Son-In-Law, one Grandson, and One Great Grandson. She is survived by 2 Sisters; Eunice Ballinger and Helen Gillham both of Bolivar. Ten Children; Charlene Grant, Edna & Dick Durbin, Beverly Yates, Regina & Dan Deskins all of Springfield, James Cox of St. Louis, Joyce & Danny Presley of Brighton, Benton & Barbara Cox, Eula & Bill Ghys, Anna Lea & Larry Griffitts and Myrtle Sue Cox all of Morrisville. 25 Grandchildren and their spouses, Ralph & Charlotte Higgins, Richard & Tracy Grant, Jennifer Wood, Sean D. Stafford, Joy & Joshua Labrie, Michele & Michael Menzies, Matthew & Kimberly Ball, Greg & Susan Griffitts, Jeff & Hope Griffitts, Mike & Sherri Reaves, Tony Reaves, Bernie & Barbara Ghys, Bill & Shelly Smith, Sandy Lance, Todd & Leslie Ghys, John & Brenda Yates, Jason & Angie Yates, Joseph & Jena Yates, Thomas & Linda Robb, Wesley & Lisa Hester, Laura & Travis Polodna, Sheila & Jeff Hines, Sherri & Harlan Skinner, Paul & Amy Presley, Dana & Darin Meinders. 59 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many other Family & Friends. She was saved as a child and became a Godly woman and awesome prayer warrior. Because of her faith and trust in God she was a loving wife and precious Mother & Grandmother. She was a member of Morrisville & Brighton Assembly of God Church. Her first and foremost work for which she received no pay was taking care of her family Aunts, Grandparents, Children and Grandchildren. In her career she wore many hats, Laundress, home health, and her last position before she retired was a breakfast cook at Central Bible Institute. She loved people and hosted many C.B.I. students in our home for home cooked meals. There was always room for one more at Mom's table. On February 12, 2006 we said "she's gone", and the Heavenly Host said "here she comes"! The family wishes to thank Lisa and Pauline and to express gratitude to the many people from Hospice Care and Dr. Stephen Reeder for their loving tender care of our mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John's Hospice Care, 1378 E. Republic Rd. Springfield, MO 65804. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2005 at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Bolivar with Rev. Charles Cross, Rev. C. J. Greer, and Rev. John Pool officiating. A poem will be read by Lisa Hester. Music will be provided by Olen Greer, Mark Cross, Phillip Cross, Becky Taylor with Twyla Menzies as the pianist. Joshua LaBrie will provide the prelude and postlude. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Mo. Casketbearers will be, Richard Grant, Bernie Ghys, Todd Ghys, John Yates, Jason Yates, Joe Yates, Greg Griffitts, Jeff Griffitts, Matt Ball, Mike Reaves, Tony Reaves, Paul Presley and Sean Stafford.
