David Creech

David Lee Creech passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2014 at Citizen’s Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. David was born August 20, 1938 in Dinuba County, California to John Mark Creech and Thelma (Walker) Creech. When he was 6 months old the family moved to the Fair Play area where he lived until he graduated from Fair Play High School. He was saved as a young man at Campbell Grove Missionary Baptist Church, later joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church then in 1990 moved his membership to Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He married Lorraine Melton in 1959 and to this union three children were born. Pamela Kay, Connie Jo and Ronald Eugene. He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Creech, his step-dad Oral Crawford, step-sister Elizabeth, several aunts and uncles, a brother-in-law Jim Lowry, a niece Linda (Lowry) Mertzbauer, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Charlie and Jewell Melton. David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine; daughters, Pam Garrison of Nixa, MO and Connie Hoaglin and husband Regie of Nixa, MO; son Ronnie Creech and wife Cindi of Republic, MO. Two granddaughters, Jacklyn Rae and Alex Marie, two step-grandchildren Steven and Lindsey, two step-great grandchildren, Chloe and Emma, a sister-in-law, June Lowry of Kansas City, MO; a niece Karen Lowry of Pensacola, FL, nephew Dennis Lowry and wife Julie and children Janica and Dalton, nephew Justin Mutzbauer and parents Erich and Shar of Kansas City, MO and a host of other family members and many friends. He loved his church family and music, he played guitar and sang with several groups of family and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Doyle Mayfield officiating. Musical selection will be “The Family Of God” and “I Saw The Light”. Casketbearers will be Richard Lowry, Herb Boyce, Randy Jones, Joe Blair, Jim Strader and Doyle Spear. Honorary Casketbearers will be Larry Kroutil, Doyle Barham, Clea Lightfoot, Paul Wilson, Sam Stephens, Charley Ealy, Donnie Lipe and Scott Mackey. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
