CHARLES LATHERN MORRIS Charles Lathern Morris, age 58 of Fair Play, MO died Saturday, January 12, 2008 in his home after a lingering illness. He was born in Bolivar, MO on February 2, 1949 the son of Carl James Morris and Juanita Fink Morris. Charles lived in the Kansas City, MO area as a teenager and on December 13, 1974 married Cindy Lee Campbell. He was a wonderful father, full of wisdom and honest words. He loved his Nascar races and Dale Earnhardt collections. His being with his loved ones meant a lot to Charles. He loved working around his home and building a shed with his grandson Michael this past summer. He lived a full life. Charles spent his last six years in a battle with cancer. He was a retired Siding Contractor. Surviving is his daughter, Lori Enos and husband Mike of Kansas City, MO; two sons, Vince Compos and wife Crystal of Sunset, LA; and Tony Compos and wife April of Lafayette, LA; his mother, Juanita Butler of Bolivar; and two sisters, Janice Goldsberry and Carlene Campbell both of Bolivar. Also 8 grandchildren Michael, Miles, Charlee Marie, Edward James Enos all of Kansas City, MO and Vincent Lee, Miranda, Madison, and Anthony of Louisiana. Three nieces, Cheryl McCarty of Buffalo; Tina Morgan of Bolivar and Taffy Booker of Kansas City, MO. Four nephews, Kenny and Dennis Morris of Kansas City, MO; Mike Goldsberry of Bolivar and Chad Campbell of Bolivar. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Morris, step-father, Curly Butler, and three brothers, Carl Clay, John and Dennis Morris. He leaves a host of friends and other relatives who will miss him. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 15, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Hendrickson officiating. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" by Willie Nelson, "When I Get Where I'm Going" by Brad Paisley and Dolly Partin, and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" by Vince Gill. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers were Mike Goldsberry, Randy Neil, Chad Campbell, Kenny Morris, Bob Shay and Dennis Bartshe.
