OBITUARY DELMA CHARLENE TUCKER Charlene Tucker, age 70, a resident of Bolivar, passed away at 3:32 AM Tuesday at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar after a sudden illness. She was born and grew up in Bunker, MO on March 31, 1936, the daughter of Tommie Ernest Ratliff and Ella May Patterson Ratliff. Charlene met her future husband Joe in the Bunker area, who was a brother of her best friend and they dated for a very short time, and were united in marriage on May 2, 1955 in the State Of Mississippi. To this union 2 daughters were born. Charlene & Joe loved being together, whether watching the eagles near Bennet Springs or watching St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. She loved her knitting, crocheting and making gifts for others. She was presently making Christmas gifts for her family and friends. Charlene was very envolved with the Polk County Christian School, and the Polk County Humane Society in charitable ways. She was a member of the Wellspring Baptist Fellowship and attended when she could. She had many hours of enjoyment listening to the Bill Gaither music and also watching QVC. She and Joe lived many places, while Joe was in the Army, but for many years lived in Lebanon, MO moving to Bolivar in 1998 after Joe passed away. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Lewis Tucker in December, 1997 and three sisters, and two brothers. She accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior and shared with others her faith. Surviving are her two daughters, Debby Helton and husband John of Kansas City, MO; JoAnn Summers and husband Carl of Bolivar, MO; One grandson, Christopher Helton of Colorado Springs, CO. Also many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and the pups, she loved and enjoyed. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the home of Carl and JoAnn Summers, with John Wheeler officiating.
