Bueford C. Curl

Bueford C. Curl, 88, of Dunnegan, Missouri passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville. A lifelong resident of Dunnegan, Bueford was one of 4 children born to Ernest H. and Mabel Hopkins Curl of Dunnegan. Bueford was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his discharge he came back home to Dunnegan. He married Neta Ruth Vest on June 6, 1947 and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Bueford was a member of the Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dunnegan and served as a church elder for many years. He was a farmer, owning and living on the same farm where he had grownup. He became a rural mail carrier primarily out of the Stockton Post Office. He was a member of the Fair Play Lions Club and served on the school board for Fair Play Public Schools. He enjoyed driving and drove many miles hauling cattle. He also became a chauffeur to the Amish community and enjoyed making several long road trips with his Amish friends. As a young man, fishing and hunting were enjoyable activities. Bueford was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Freddy William Curl; daughters-in-law Dianne and Lana Curl; brother Dale Curl and brothers-in-law Leon Foster and Clyde Mayse. Bueford is survived by his wife Neta of the home; sons Danny Curl of Dunnegan and Kent Curl of Nixa; grandchildren Kris Curl, Keri Roberts and her husband Aaron, Allison Blamey and her husband Aaron, Ashley Asby and her husband Chris; great-grandchildren Aiden and Caitlin Asby, Karissa and Keira Roberts, Dalara Curl; sisters Juanita Foster of Bolivar and Dixie Mayse of Springfield, Illinois; sister-in-law Juanita "Cricket" Curl of Bolivar; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bueford Curl will be held 2 PM Monday, October 8, 2012, at Murray Funeral Home, Bolivar, officiated by Rev. Robert Bornert and assisted by Mike Foster with burial following at Payne Cemetery near Polk. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
