Leonard Charles Stock

Leonard Charles Stock (January 20, 1936 - July 26, 2013) U.S. Veteran Leonard "Chub" Charles Stock, 77, of Morrisville passed away Friday evening, July 26, 2013 at the Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. He was one of 14 children born to George and Anna Stock in Sankertown, Pennsylvania. After his honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps he attended college at Penn State University where earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He married Anita "Connie" Rae Constable on September 6, 1958 and she preceded him in death on May 19, 1989. Leonard and Connie were the parents of 8 children. Leonard worked many years as a supervisor at the 7-UP Bottling Company in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1982 the family moved to Halfway where Leonard fulfilled his desire to be a farmer. His love of farming continued after he moved from his farm to the senior housing at Morrisville Manor where he proudly won the competition for best garden for many years. Leonard was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed teaching his children how to do the same. Leonard never knew a stranger and loved to visit with folks and play practical jokes. Music was an important part of his life, he loved to sing and broke out in song for anyone around. Leonard was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church parish in Bolivar, MO. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife Connie; daughter Linda; and 11 of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by one sister Anna, and one brother Robert; sons Michael Stock and his wife Lesa of Fair Grove, Patrick Stock and his wife Robyn of Willard, Ron Stock and his wife Kim of Phoenix, AZ., Leonard Stock Jr. and his wife Frances of Peoria, AZ, and Joby Stock of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Billie Jo Stock of Springfield, JoAnn Curry and her husband George of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial for Leonard Stock will be held 10 AM Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bolivar with Father Pat Wissman as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, August 1st at Murray Funeral Home, Bolivar.
