Gary Glover

Gary Glover, 65, of Fair Play, Mo passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Fair Play, MO. Gary was born on January 10, 1953 to Chester and Elma Bowman. He left High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he faithfully served from 1970 to 1973. He would finish his High School education in Germany, and went on the ultimately achieve a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Regis University, graduating Cum Laude. Gary spent his working life on water purification and maintenance. He worked in the City water plants in Astoria, IL and Blandinsville, IL. He finally worked at Colorado Springs Utilities, where he retired from in 2012. In his final working years, he also taught Filtration classes at Pike’s Peak Community College. In 2016, Gary would move to Fair Play, MO to enjoy a slower pace of life. Gary was always a blessing to others, and loved to serve. He was honored to serve as a board member of the Security Public Library in Security, CO, as well as many other posts including board member of the MSU County Extention Campus, Assistant Chaplain for the Ozark Memorial Honor Guard, a member of the DAV Chapter #66 in Bolivar, MO, AmVets, the Masonic Lodge in Fountain, CO, and the Stockton Freewill Baptist Church in Stockton, MO. Gary was a man of great passion. He loved his family dearly, and extended to them love and kindness. He also loved his pets, Murphy and Lucy. He also enjoyed the relaxing pace of life that came with bird watching. He loved to set out feeders and watch as the many different types of birds would help themselves to seeds in his front yard. He also enjoyed learning, and even after finishing his schooling loved to read, and could be found with as many as three books at once. Gary was truly a one-of-a-kind man, and his memory will live on through those whom he loved. Rest well faithful warrior. Your mission is completed. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Chester Glover and Elma Royer, as well as many aunts and uncles. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Glover, of Fair Play, MO, as well as his children; Billy Jo Glover of Rushville, IL, Holly Parker and husband Johnny of Urbana, IL, Jeffery Glover and wife Kaleena of Fairborn, OH, Robert Talbott of Fair Play, MO, Daniel Talbott and wife Veronica of Tampa, FL, and Elizabeth Talbott of Tampa FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Nicole, Kaitlin, Garrett, Austin, Raylee, Eliana, and Benjamin. Gary is also survived by his brothers, Tom Glover and wife Barbara, and Michael Glover and wife Rebecca, as well as his sister, Linda Brown and husband Matt, and several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Visitation for Gary Glover will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with a memorial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Butler Funeral Home, Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, in Springfield, Missouri at 1:00 p.m.
